Loves from my past . . . .

My first love: Spritely. This is us on a competetive trail ride in Corner Canyon, Utah. A soul-mate for certain.

"Star" (or "Princess Star-Dar")
CH Aluk's Wildstar o'Uintah High, WTD
The FIRST "Princess", who was #1 Malamute Bitch in the Rocky Mtn region for two years in a row, and a great wheel dog on my team (when she forgot that the harness might dent her fur . . . .)

"Bryce"
CH Aluk's Uintah High, WTD
The dog who got me into my current "mess", LOL
with dog shows. (Note the big grin.)
Us winning our first point ever, with judge Betty Krause (who later joked, "My, I've cost you a lot of money, haven't I?"
Yes, Betty, you have--but I LOVE you for it!

"Win"
CH Sugarbear N' UH's Watch Me Win, WTD
Awesome dog who no one thought I would ever finish--and he finished in 9 shows! Sire of a couple of my first dogs. One of my buddies.

"Smokey"
White Paws Smoke'em Uintah High, WTD, WWPD
Probably the best Malamute sled dog I ever had. A kick-butt wheel dog, and probably one of the best overall Mals ever--but he hated showing so bad ("Tough Dogs do NOT get prettied up and prance around!") that I let him retire from the show ring after only 2 weekends. Hated "floaties" in his water, and loved to rearrange bones, sticks, rocks, etc. in his living space into different artful arrangements.

"Narly"
Narles of Sepp-Alta
Absolutely, without question, THE BEST lead dog on the planet. A Seppala Siberian Husky, bred by Doug Willett, he ran on the world-record-setting Siberian team (can't remember what year), and had more frequent flyer miles than any human I know from flying around the world being a lead dog on many top teams and siring some of the best lead-potential puppies around. However, he was also a grumpy old man--and I loved him for it. He taught me more about sledding than any other dog or human, and was the ONLY Sibe that my Mals had unwavering respect for.

One of my best sled teams. This one is being led by Narly's protege', Vixen (on the left) and his daughter Dishaun (on the right). Also on the team are Win (wheel, left), Kina (wheel, right), Patty and MacGuyver (behind Dishaun).

"Callie"
Carascalliope
Irish Thoroughbred mare, imported from Ireland as a young mare. By the time I got her when she was 19, she had "been there, done that" just about everywhere: dressage, show jumping, steeplechase, and even rodeo (with some darn fast barrel racing times!). She was my last horse, and a gift from God during a very hard part of my life, that then became the first step in creating a new life. She LOVED life and helped me re-learn how to do that myself.
Missing (but I'm trying to find pics of them): Skylar (Pikkinokka's Foxmont Sky Blue). My first Finkie, and one of my best buddies. And Yoshi, my first Shiba Inu.
